It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of this. He had lived on our planet for 37 years at the time of his death. Aaron Scott McCaleb was born to parents Scott McCaleb and Sandy Wilson McCaleb in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on September 15, 1985. He received his high school diploma from Winfield City High School in 2004 and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Aaron was a loving father to his daughter, Rowan, as well as a committed brother and son. Rowan was Aaron’s favorite child. The loving family that Aaron had will always remember him and treasure the memories they shared. Among those who continue his legacy are his daughter Rowan Elizabeth Smiley, as well as his parents Sandy McCaleb and Scott McCaleb (Kim), and his siblings Seth McCaleb (Natasha) and Paislee McCaleb. He is also survived by numerous friends, all of whom he had an impact on in some way, as well as members of his extended family. Immediately following the conclusion of the service, the burial will take place in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens. From 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 11:00 a.m., the family will welcome friends and loved ones at the funeral home. The State Bank and Trust of Winfield is accepting donations in lieu of flowers so that Rowan, Aaron’s beloved daughter, can have a college fund established.
