Alan Doneff Obituary, In Loving Memory Of Alan Doneff joy anchie, August 8, 2023 Alan Doneff Obituary, Death – We want to express our deepest condolences to Alan Doneff’s family and friends as we share the news that he passed away on August 5, 2023, at Douglas Memorial Hospital, following a brief and very private struggle with cancer. Cremation has taken place, and an event to honor the deceased’s life will be organized at a later date. Al was a career paramedic and renowned leader with Niagara Emergency Medical Services. He contributed 38 years of committed and compassionate service to the Niagara Region during his time working for the organization. Al was born and raised in Fort Erie. Throughout his professional life, Al took immense delight in fostering additional advancements in the paramedic program, welcoming change, and providing support to his colleagues. In addition to that, Al served the community for a significant amount of time as a volunteer firefighter for the Fort Erie Fire Department. Outside of his professional endeavors, Al was a teenage rock star who traveled across the Canadian prairies, a sort-of sailor who spent time on Lake Erie, the founder of a one-man motorcycle club, a model rocketry enthusiast who took the hobby both very seriously and not quite seriously enough, and someone who could be found, guitar in hand, at the center of countless parties and bonfires. Al’s two kids, Joe and Nick, who shared many of his hobbies and with whom he found so much mutual delight and camaraderie, remained the biggest source of pride for him throughout all of his exploits. Joe and Nick are the ones who remain his greatest source of pride. He was well-known for always having a grin on his face and a twinkle in his eye, and it was expected that these characteristics would only become more obvious after the introduction into his life of his cherished granddaughter Sadie and his daughter-in-law Jenna. Al treated everyone in his life as though they were family, inviting them into his life and sharing with them his wacky and genuine company. As a result, Al has a family that is too numerous to name because he treated everyone in his life as though they were family. Al, Julie, Joe, and Nick would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to Jill and Lynne from the Niagara EMS Mobile Integrated Health Team for the unwavering and selfless support that they provided to Al during his time of need. They would also like to thank the Niagara EMS family for their care and support to both Al and his former colleagues. Finally, they would like to thank Dr. Kim Scher, whose compassion, knowledge, dedication, and presence provided comfort to both Al and his family during his final months. Many people miss and love him, regardless of whether he was known as Al, Deeda, Stinky, Inky, Incident Commando, Father Festivus, or any of the other aliases he used. Benner Funeral Services, located at 1105 Benner Avenue in Fort Erie, has been given the responsibility of making the necessary arrangements. Obituary
