Aurelie Sheehan Obituary, Death – Aurelie Kariam Sheehan, a professor at the University of Arizona and the cherished wife of Reed Kariam Sheehan, has unfortunately gone away in Tucson. On Thursday, August 3, 2023, after a valiant struggle with cancer, she passed away surrounded by the people she cherished most in the world. Through a statement on their website, the University of Arizona Poetry Center provided evidence that she had passed away.

These collections include “Demigods on Speedway” (University of Arizona Press, 2014), “Jewelry Box: A Collection of Histories” (BOA Editions, Ltd., 2013), and “Jack Kerouac Is Pregnant” (Dalkey Archive Press, 1994). Notably, “Jewelry Box” was given the prestigious honor of being recognized as a “outstanding 2013 short story collection” by The Story Prize. This was a major accomplishment for the author.

Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampshire College as well as a Master of Arts degree from The City College of the City University of New York.
