Betsy Ball Obituary, Death – Betsy L. Ball passed away on August 24, 2017, in Sandusky, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She had been ill for some time. She had a long and fulfilling life, reaching the age of 97 before passing away. Betsy was born and raised in Akron, and she eventually married her high school boyfriend, James D. Ball “Bane,” who was a proud Army Air Corps veteran who served during World War II.

Before he passed away in 1993, they had been married for a total of 50 years. She was a devoted wife and mother who took great pleasure in playing hostess to large family get-togethers at their lakeside retirement home on Seneca Lake. Multiple generations looked forward to spending quality time with their “Grandpa Bane” and “Gram” While Betsy’s family and friends enjoyed themselves outside, she made sure there was plenty of food for everyone.

She was happy to watch her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren water ski and love the lake as much as she did. She often served as the official boat driver for the water skiers. She was 76 years old, but she still managed to water ski by herself! Her primary interest was in the natural world; she enjoyed observing and feeding the local birds as well as going on walks around the lake with her dog, Pal. She was able to identify every plant and bloom, and she was in awe of the splendor that God had made.
