Bill Whiley Obituary, Death –  This obituary is being posted with a heavy heart in memory of Bill Whiley, who was a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and brother who passed away at home on July 27 at the age of 87. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

In honor of Bill, the British Heart Foundation will be accepting contributions in the form of memorial gifts. If anyone would like to contribute a photo, a memory, or an anecdote to our memorial website, we would be thrilled to read or view it.

This past May, during the SST concert we hosted, we had the privilege of paying respect to Charlie, who had gone away in June of 2022. It was a pleasure to have Dr. McCashin join us for the concert. A number of people referred to Charlie as the “heart of SST.”
The entire Spring String Thing community will feel a profound loss with Dr. McCashin and Charlie’s departure. We will be grateful to them for all eternity for the enthusiasm with which they ran this camp, and we intend to carry on the traditions they established.

Throughout their whole life, this person was a shining example of the characteristics that have inspired and made a difference in the lives of countless people. Their steadfast commitment to pursuing their interests and passions was a demonstration of their dogged determination and uncompromising will. It is impossible to deny the effect that they had, whether it was in their professional undertakings, where they demonstrated an unrivaled work ethic, or in their personal connections, where their compassion knew no borders and recognized no limits.

This individual’s unquenchable quest for knowledge and boundless curiosity motivated them to travel extensively and interact with the outside world in meaningful ways. One of the most notable aspects of their personality was their capacity to empathize with others, listen to them, and then provide sound advise to both friends and acquaintances. The teachings of resiliency, solidarity, and the significance of seizing each fleeting moment are what they leave behind, which ensures that their legacy will go on beyond the confines of time.

During this time of mourning, let us recall the joy and laughter they brought into our lives, the knowledge and insight they passed on, and the unmistakable mark they left on the fabric of the universe. Although it may be difficult to convey in words the whole scope of their impact, the memories that we hold dear will ensure that their spirit continues to live on. May the awareness that their journey will continue in the hearts and minds of those who were lucky enough to have known them bring us comfort during this time of sadness.
