Billy Wilczynski Obituary, Death – “Bill” or “Billy” Wilczynski, III has died, at age 67. His sister Mary was with him when he died suddenly at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Born in Chicago, raised in Chicago Heights, longtime Chicago resident and recent Ashkum resident. Marian Catholic High School 1973 graduate. political science and history major from Quincy College, 1977.

Diehard White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks, and Northwestern Wildcats supporter. Golfed, fished in Minnesota, studied history, trivia, and loved movies. He lived in downtown Chicago for 25 years. He dined at his favorite restaurants, including Smith & Wollensky, where he was known as “White Sox Bill”, Italian Village, Gene and Georgetti, The Palm, and too many others, in Marina Towers.

He enjoyed and cooked great dinners like his father. Recent post: “Cooking is my meditation, my craft. I enjoy it, relax, gain self-awareness, enhance confidence, and more.” Bill was an insurance surplus lines broker for 35 years at Marsh & McLennan, National Brokerage Agency, and AJ Renner. The ultimate insurance broker ideal, working at Lloyd’s of London and living in London, was Bill’s early career.

Bill became ServPro of Kankakee County and ServPro Team Nichols Ambassador of Marketing and Sales in 2013. He acquired numerous new acquaintances and had enduring ties with his employees and the Fire Chiefs of Kankakee and Iroquois County, whom he called family, during his 10 years with ServPro. Bill lived in Bourbonnais, Illinois for years before finding his paradise in Ashkum. He moved out of an apartment a year ago and founded a home with his beloved cat Bast.
