His sister Mary was with him when he died suddenly at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Golfed, fished in Minnesota, studied history, trivia, and loved movies. He lived in downtown Chicago for 25 years. He dined at his favorite restaurants, including Smith & Wollensky, where he was known as “White Sox Bill”, Italian Village, Gene and Georgetti, The Palm, and too many others, in Marina Towers. Bill became ServPro of Kankakee County and ServPro Team Nichols Ambassador of Marketing and Sales in 2013. He acquired numerous new acquaintances and had enduring ties with his employees and the Fire Chiefs of Kankakee and Iroquois County, whom he called family, during his 10 years with ServPro.
