Chester Douglas Parsons Obituary, Death – On Monday, August 7, 2023, at the age of 67, Chester Douglas Parsons Jr. passed away at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, Arkansas. His hometown was Pocahontas, Arkansas, in the United States. Walnut Ridge, Arkansas was the location where Chester Douglas Parsons Sr. and Verna Mae Jones Parsons welcomed their son Douglas into the world on December 25, 1955. Douglas was named after Chester Douglas Parsons Sr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Brenda Parsons; daughters Stephanie Parsons of Pocahontas and Samantha Mitchell (Richard), of Water Valley; grandchildren Jordan (Sydney) Smith, Vivian (Dylan McQueen) Smith, and Alexandra Jones; five great grandchildren and one more on the way; as well as a host of other members of his family and friends.

Sisters Anna (William) Richmond, Lily Young, and Carolyn Benton, all of Pocahontas; a large number of nieces and nephews, other members of the family, and close friends. Billy and Timmy (Sandy) Parsons are brothers who live in Pocahontas and Jonesboro, respectively. Also leaves a sizable number of nieces and nephews left after their passing. Anthony Benton, Jim Palmer, Chris Young, Kevin Benton, Scotty Richmond, and Darren Parsons have been invited to carry the casket during the funeral service.

Jeffery Parsons and Mike Jones will represent the community as honorary pallbearers thanks to their selection. There will be a visitation held at the Hope Gardens Funeral Home on the evening of Wednesday, August 9, 2023. The event will begin at five in the afternoon and continue until eight in the evening. On Thursday, August 10, 2023, at ten of the clock in the morning, a memorial service will be performed at the graveyard in Randolph Memorial Gardens, with William Richmond serving as the officiant.
