Claire Cunningham Obituary, Death – Today, as I logged into Facebook, I was greeted by the following post: I had the good fortune to volunteer with Claire Cunningham for a number of different organizations, despite the fact that we were not related. Coming directly from Claire’s offspring Theresa Cunningham Claire My mother went away without any pain or suffering around 2:30 in the morning. I believe that she was waiting for me to come and give her a final kiss before we parted ways.

Yesterday, I’m very thankful that I was able to board that plane. I asked her to please give my friend Joey a big hug and a kiss on my behalf. I simply cannot fathom the joy that must be filling Heaven right now as she is reunited with her father and mother, as well as her grandparents and great-grandfather, as well as all of her other ancestors who have passed on before her. I have often pondered the nature of heaven and its inhabitants. While she was lying there, she had such a stunning appearance. Her skin was flawless in every way.This was written by my sister, Cheri Flynn, and I believe it expresses everything well.

I must break the news to you with a heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to my “Super Mom” Claire this morning. In my head, she was quicker than a bullet that was traveling at the speed of light, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. She exemplified these superpowers in all that she touched, from her ferocious love for her family to her altruistic involvement and her organizational prowess in recruiting evangelicals.

She was the embodiment of the philosophy that one’s life should not be a journey to the grave with the objective of arriving safely in a nice and well-preserved body, but rather one should skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, completely used up, entirely worn out, and loudly exclaiming “Wow! What a Ride! Cheers to a wonderful journey that began on December 10, 1928 and ended on August 6, 2023.
