Seventy-nine years old. His parents Woodrow Wilson Felton and Elsie Lilley Felton died before him. Being an only child. His beautiful wife Phi Jacobs and her children Josh, Hannah, and Andrew Tilander survive him. Also survived by his four children Tim Felton (Farelle), Jimi Felton, Andy Felton (Gena Nuttle), Ross Felton (Lynn), and his mother Jayne. Cozy loved his grandchildren Davis Stafford, Will Felton, Lily Felton Bowyer, Hayes Felton, Samuel Felton, Elizabeth Felton, Lailynn Tilander, and Mila Tilander. Gary Wilson Felton, born July 19, 1943 in Winton, North Carolina, won a roll-top desk for being the Most Beautiful Baby. He joined the 4H Club, Eagle Scouts, and National Honor Society at Ahoskie High School in Hertford County. He was nicknamed “Cozy” in high school while playing in the Rockin Roulettes dance band. As the drummer, Cozy and the Rockin Roulettes were named after jazz drummer Cozy Cole. Never has a nickname better suited a lifetime personality. NC State University brought Cozy to Raleigh in 1960. After graduating in Parks and Recreation, he sold tombstones, founded a profitable self-administered life and health insurance firm, and worked in building and property development for decades. Cozy Felton’s life is best described as helping others. His passion was helping others through life’s transitions and tribulations. In his devotion and fellowship to various organizations, he has helped countless people from his generous heart for decades. He has been a Hillsborough Street Alexander Y member since moving to Raleigh. Cozy spent her life helping people. He always made time to talk to anyone. He was defined by his unconditional affection and willingness to listen and cuddle. He was many people’s dad, friend, and brother. Obituary
