September 26 is the day of Curtis Moen’s birth. Alvin and Elaine (Kotz) got hitched on September 2nd, 1961. Steven and Todd, as well as a stepson named Kyle, were the couple’s two sons. Since he started working in construction at a young age, Curtis was no stranger to hard labor. He quickly built up a successful construction business, which he used to impart to his boys the importance of perseverance, morals, and treating others fairly. When Alvin wasn’t busy assisting a neighbor or working in the family construction business, he enjoyed caring for the animals on the family farm, which was in its second generation at the time. Later, Curtis joined Alcoholics Anonymous and became an active member, where he spent the next 40 years helping others while simultaneously receiving therapy for his own addiction. When Alvin noticed a need, he did not think twice to give his help. Tourists could regularly spot Alvin in Woodman Cemetery because he most recently devoted his time and expertise to maintaining the grounds there. Obituary
