Throughout his professional tenure, David imparted knowledge to a substantial number of pupils across several educational institutions, namely Stromness Academy, KGS, Westray, Dounby, Glaitness, and Papdale Primary Schools. Additionally, he served as a member of the OIC Instrumental Music Service from 1989 until 2022. The individual commenced their tenure with the OIC in the year 2022. David possessed extensive experience in both the concert platform and theatrical pit, having participated in numerous pantomimes and musicals as a conductor or band member. Additionally, he contributed his musical talents to other community bands such as the Orkney Orchestra, the Orkney Camerata, and many others. In addition to overseeing a diverse array of prominent Big Bands and Wind Bands, David assumed leadership responsibilities for directing numerous community ensembles.
