Demaryius Thomas Death Cause, In Loving Memory Of Demaryius Thomas joy anchie, August 4, 2023 Demaryius Thomas Death Cause – The Fulton County medical examiner announced Sunday that Denver Broncos four-time All-Pro receiver Demaryius Thomas died of seizures. Thomas, who resigned from the NFL six months earlier, died Dec. 9 at his Roswell, Ga. home. He was 33. Boston University neurologists diagnosed Thomas with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (C.T.E.) in July. Only diagnosed posthumously, the sickness does not kill. Doctors felt Thomas’s seizures were caused by a 2019 car incident in which his skull smashed the windshield and a hydraulic rescue gear was used to extract him. Thomas’s brain neuropathologist, Dr. Ann McKee, claimed C.T.E. was unlikely to cause his seizures, and he likely died of asphyxia following a seizure. While Thomas’s cause of death was known, Fulton County medical examiner investigator Bertram Ennett noted his method of death remained unknown. Bobby Thomas, Demaryius’s father, said Thomas’s driver found him in his shower at home. Bobby Thomas and other family and friends stated Demaryius Thomas’s seizures increased in his final year. They attacked without notice, causing Thomas to smash other cars and fall down steps. He also had memory loss, paranoia, and isolation from C.T.E. He became increasingly eccentric, going extended stretches without leaving home or answering calls and texts, according to friends. Although drafted in the first round from Georgia Tech in 2010, Thomas had headaches throughout his NFL career. In Super Bowl 50, which ended the 2015 season, Thomas was tackled by Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly and suffered a headache that kept him from attending most of the after-party. Obituary
