Over the course of more than 36 years, Coach Donnell was an incredible contributor to our community and touched the lives of a great number of people.
“Everyone who ever crossed paths with Coach Donnell was touched forever!” said a student at Tavares High School. Once a Raider, always a Raider was his motto, and he lived by it with every fiber of his being. Coach devoted 36 years of his life to TYFL, and he loved everyone of the children he coached just as much as he loved his own. He was one of a kind in every sense of the word.

Once a Raider, always a Raider was made available to the general public for the very first time through the publication of The Raider Chronicles. He loved his own children and grandchildren, as well as the children and teens he coached, and he loved his own children and granddaughters just as much as he loved the children and teenagers he coached. The Coach had been involved with the Toledo Youth Football League (TYFL) for the better part of the previous 36 years of his life, and he loved each and every one of his players in equal measure. He embodied in each and every aspect that it is even remotely possible to think of what it meant to be “one of a kind.”

One of the pupils of Tavares High School expressed their feelings on Coach Donnell by saying that “everyone who ever crossed paths with Coach Donnell was touched forever!” concerning Coach Donnell and his involvement. “Coach Donnell left an indelible mark on the lives of anyone and everyone he ever came into contact with!” / “Coach Donnell’s influence was felt long after he was gone!” Once a Raider, always a Raider became his personal mantra, and he made it his duty to live his life in accordance with this guiding philosophy. Once a Raider, always a Raider was released in theaters on March 16, 2018. Once a Raider, always a Raider evolved became his personal motto during his time with the team.
