Douglas William Trewin Obituary, Douglas Trewin has passed away joy anchie, August 3, 2023 Douglas William Trewin Obituary, Death – We wish to convey our deepest condolences to Douglas William (Bill) Trewin’s family and friends as we share the news of his demise on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. He was the son of the late Douglas Trewin and Betty (Fleming) Trewin, and he was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia. It was in 1964 when Bill’s family made the move to Parrsboro, and it was in this community that he flourished, becoming a member of the Parrsboro citizens band. Participating in school athletics, and becoming a member of the rock band Peanut Butter Conspiracy. After that, he decided to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and served from 1972 until 1997 in the following locations: Sussex, Fredericton, Port Elgin, and finally Moncton. After serving for 25 years, Bill retired as a sergeant and moved on to work for the government of New Brunswick, where he eventually became the Regional Director for Public Safety before ending his career. He was 49 years old when he finally received the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease after consulting with three different neurologists. Running, going to the gym, and eventually Nordic walking became his credo after he learnt that exercise was just as vital as medication in treating his condition. In addition, Bill discovered his passion for photography. He volunteered his time at the YMCA, the Food Bank, and the Parkinson’s Society in the local community. During his retirement, one of his greatest musical passions was performing with his band, The Mud River Band, which did volunteer work all throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Bill is survived by his devoted partner, Jane McKnight, her children Kristin Zwicker (Rob) and Kelsey McKnight (Ian), his precious son Jeffrey, grandchildren Elijah, Jack, Gray and Anna Zwicker; sisters Mary (Gordon), Nancy (Doug), Kerry; brother in law John Nugent; sisters in law Ruth Vaughan (Gilles), Judith Sorenson (Andrew) and many nieces and nephews, and families, who thought Uncle Bill was the greatest. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, as well as by his sister, Linda Nugent. Obituary
