Edna Smith Obituary, Edna Smith has sadly passed away joy anchie, August 2, 2023 Edna Smith Obituary, Death – Edna Smith, one of our original members, fought valiantly against cancer for a very long time but ultimately succumbed to the disease last Thursday after a protracted and challenging struggle. It is with a very heavy heart that we have to deliver this devastating news to you, but unfortunately it is vital that we do so. Edna had already reached the age of 90 when she and Colin celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary, which occurred when they were married for 69 years. It is common knowledge that Edna was the one who kept Colin on track as Chairman of both the Residents Group and the Christmas Lights, despite the fact that Colin had held the post of Chairman of both organizations for a number of years. Colin had previously held the position of Chairman of both organizations. Over the course of her whole life, Edna was an active participant in both of these organizations. Edna put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes, and for those who are old enough to remember, she was usually visible on Lights night at the corner of the Grange handing out glasses of sherry and mince pies. This is something that people who are old enough to remember will be able to tell you about. Edna was always busily working in the background, and those who have good recollections would recall that she could always be seen completing her assignment. Edna’s labor could always be seen in the background. Despite the fact that we are certain that other people will have their very own comforting memories of Edna, we are going to miss her very much despite the fact that we are positive that other people will have such recollections. Edna was a very special person in our lives. Those who are interested in attending the funeral are welcome to do so on Thursday, August 17 at 1:15 p.m. at the Dewsbury Crematorium, since the service will begin at that time. The funeral will be held in memory of the deceased at the Dewsbury Crematorium. Obituary
