Elizabeth Velez Obituary,  Death – (Rockville, MD) The Maryland State Police incident team is investigating a multi-vehicle incident in Montgomery County that killed a Pennsylvania lady and injured nine others last night. The deceased is 36-year-old Elizabeth Velez of Easton, Pennsylvania. Nissan Pathfinder driver she was in the crash. Velez has three children, ages 2, 5, and 15, who were in the car.

The Nissan’s front seat passenger is 36-year-old Pennsylvanian John Tejada. Velez, Tejada, and a 15-year-old girl were taken to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. The two younger children, 2 and 5, were sent to Virginia’s Inova Hospital. The incident injured a Lexus SUV driver and four passengers. All five individuals were sent to Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center for treatment.

Yesterday before midnight, 9-1-1 calls reported a white Mercedes CLS 450 going southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270 near Rockledge Drive. The preliminary investigation found that Jayleen Hannor, 23, of Macon, Georgia, drove the wrong way on I-270 onto the outer loop of I-495 and collided into a Nissan Pathfinder and a Lexus SUV at exit 34, Route 355. Hannor drove till he bailed out and ran down Connecticut Avenue.

Hannor was arrested and processed at Rockville Barrack. Now under police guard at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, he was moved. Hannor faces many accusations, including DUI and failing to return to a fatal crash scene. Additional charges are awaiting Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office investigation and consultation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team investigates. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration helped close lanes on the outer loop of I-495 near Route 355 with assistance from Montgomery County Police Department officers. This morning, all lanes reopened at 5:00 a.m.
