Ethan Chapman Obituary, Manhattan Kansas joy anchie, August 6, 2023 Ethan Chapman Obituary, Death – Kevin and Colleen Chapman welcomed their son Ethan James into the world on December 12, 1996 in Tyler, Texas. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2016, where he was a member of the basketball team, the Bridgeport Bulls, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Basketball first team all-district honoree Ethan was a vital part of the Bulls’ 2015 State Champion squad. After graduating, he continued to play basketball at Mary Hardin-Baylor University. Ethan loved wakeboarding and wakesurfing every summer at the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as watching Mavs and Cowboys games and playing video games. Everyone who witnessed him play can attest to his fame for his 3-point shooting. He loved basketball growing up. Ethan was fortunate to lead a very active life in just 23 short years; among of his most cherished experiences were playing basketball throughout the world traveling, going hunting in Argentina, and finishing a rigorous Seal Fit course. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his sister Ryan, his nephew Grayson, his niece Leighton, his relatives, and engaging in nerf wars with his younger brother Noah. His infectious smile and dry sense of humor made him friends everywhere, and he had a good impact on countless lives. In addition to his grandmother Connie Chapman of Nacogdoches, Texas, his mother Colleen McGrail of Shreveport, Louisiana, sister Ryan Chapman and her partner Chris Wright of Shreveport, Louisiana, sisters Presleigh and Landry Chapman of Nacogdoches, Texas, his longtime guardian Neal and wife Jamie Hawks, brothers Caleb Smith and wife Bailey, Devonte Patterson, Keenan Holdman, and Noah Hawks, all of His father, Kevin Chapman, and grandparents Richard “Dick” and Patricia McGrail and Gibbs Chapman predeceased him.
