In the early morning hours of Friday, July 7, 2023, Garrett passed away in the Dr. Georges Dumont University Hospital Centre. He was the son of Dan Ibbitson and Cheryl (Chrest) Ibbitson, and he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Garrett was a young man who was kind, sensitive, and always worried about those who were less fortunate. His interests included motorbikes, flying, and animals, and he had a strong passion for all three. His rescued kitten, whom he named Little One, and his Yamaha Virago from 1995 were his two greatest passions in life. He never felt restricted despite having his bike below him.
