Gary Pollpeter Obituary, In Loving Memory Of Gary Pollpeter joy anchie, August 4, 2023 Gary Pollpeter Obituary, Death – Gary Lee Pollpeter, a citizen of Colgate, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, holding the hands of his beloved children Abby and Nick. He is survived by his wife Laurie Pollpeter, his brothers Todd (Mary Ann) and Jeff (Lynn) Pollpeter, his children Nick (Andrea) Pollpeter and Abby (Jason) DeCarlo, his grandchildren London, Olive, and Maxwell, his in-laws Dennis (Cindy) and Glenn (Julie) Meister, as well as other dear family and friends. Before him in death were his mother Betty, father Ron Pollpeter, uncles Arch Forcier, Iona Forcier, Glenn Pollpeter, and sister-in-law Leigh Pollpeter. Gary Pollpeter was born on October 24, 1952, to Ron and Betty Pollpeter, and he graduated from Washington (Germantown) High School in 1971. He was employed by A.O. Smith as a machinist, Bell Ambulance as an EMT, and the Germantown Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter/EMT in 1970. Later, he served as the Village of Germantown’s acting fire chief from the late 1980s to 1989. Gary attended and completed the National Fire Academy (NFA), which is operated by FEMA, in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth and Newspapers in Education were both formed by the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety, which he also served on the board of directors for. Gary left the Fire Department in 2013 after 43 years of service and signed off as 1701. Gary was a volunteer at German Fest, a member of the Muller’s Fasching Verein, and the coach of the Germantown Hawks football team for more than 20 years. Gary was also a member of the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club. Gary married Jane Craden in 1977, and their two children, Nick and Abby, were a blessing. He later married Lauren Meister-Ward in 2006. Together, they enjoyed their time away, boating at their cabin on Long Lake, and dining at one of their favorite restaurants, Alpine Retreat. Obituary
