During the early phases of this BCH chapter’s development as well as during its later expansion, Tina Owen and Gene Owen, both, held the position of officer for a significant length of time between the two of them. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tina and the rest of the family as they go through this difficult time; the equestrian community has been dealt a significant setback as a result of this news. Vining Hill in Eatonton will be the location of the funeral on Friday, and it will take place there. Owen served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He also belonged to the Caledonia Masonic Lodge #96 and was a member of the McKenzie Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He served as the Chief of Police for the City of McKenzie until his retirement. Mr. Owen passed away on the evening of Monday, August 11, 2014, when he was at his residence. On February 21, 1946, he was born in Sharon, Tennessee, to parents who were named Joseph Owen and Rosa Cole Owen. His grandparents were also called Joseph Owen and Rosa Cole Owen. His parents and his sister June Crawford all gone away before he did. He was the last member of his family. Those who were able to carry on his legacy after his passing include his wife Cindy Arnold Owen of McKenzie, daughter Donna (Wayne) Hickman of McKenzie, sons Woody (Jody) Arnold II of McMinnville, Kevin Arnold of Houston, TX, and Scott (April) Arnold of Huntingdon, two sisters Margaret Reynolds of Greenfield and Patsy Owen of Martin, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father Woody Arnold Sr. His parents, Woody Arnold, Sr. and Margaret Reynolds, had passed away before him when he was born. Obituary
