On August 4, 2023, George passed away after a long and fruitful life. George was the kind of guy that was intent on accomplishing his objectives and obtaining the desired outcomes. Up to the time of his retirement, he worked as the Emergency Manager of Weslaco and the Aviation Director of the Mid Valley Airport.

Because he had been in the United States Army and had been a pilot for both airplanes and helicopters, he found a great deal of satisfaction in everything that he did, but particularly in his work in the domains of aviation and national security.
