Gertrude Ulschmid Obituary, Death – Getrude Ann Ulschmid (Gertie), 92 years old and a resident of Perham, Minnesota, passed away at Perham Health on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Getrude Lonski was born in Perham, Minnesota on July 26, 1931. Her parents were Ambrose and Helen Lonski. On December 28th, 1953, she wed Everett Ulschmid, and the two became husband and wife.

They raised their four kids in Frazee before migrating to Perham and making that city their permanent residence. Getrude spent a significant portion of her career up to her retirement working in the kitchen at the Perham Memorial Hospital and Home. Getrude had many interests and hobbies, including shopping, watching QVC, cooking, spending time with her friends and family, and playing bingo.

Getrude’s two daughters, Barbara (Dean) Long and Susan (Thomas) Sund, both of Frazee, Minnesota, as well as her two granddaughters, Angela (Robert) Johnson and Amber (Jason) Collins, both of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, as well as her three grandsons, Benjamin (Allen) Ternus of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bryan (Kailee) Ternus of Perham, Minnesota, and Matthew (Erin) Sund of Minot

Getrude’s parents, Ambrose and Helen Lonski, as well as her husband Everett Ulschmid, her children Paulette Ulschmid and Karen Christenson, her brothers Paul Lonski and Florian Lonski, and her sister Martha Ulschmid all predeceased her. Getrude is the last surviving member of her immediate family. On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 11:00 am, there will be a Funeral Service held at Schoeneberger Funeral and Cremation Service, which is located in Perham. Visitation will begin at the appointed time one hour before the service. St. Henry’s Catholic Cemetery in Perham will serve as the location for the interment.
