Homer Marks Obituary, Southwest Indian Agricultural Association, Inc. Board President has died joy anchie, August 9, 2023 Homer Marks Obituary, Death – We are writing to notify you of the passing of Mr. Homer Marks, Sr., who served as President of our Board of Directors. It is with deep sorrow that we share this news with you. First elected to the SWIAA Board of Directors in 1991, he had a successful run for election that year. In 2001, he was elected to the position of Vice President, and in 2012, he was selected to lead the organization as President. He served in both of these roles until 2012. It would be an understatement to say that he was a directing force for our organization, as he played such an important role. To the Board, he provided decades’ worth of knowledge and expertise, which made it possible for SWIAA to fulfill its mission of supporting Tribal farmers and ranchers by building on the knowledge and experience he shared with them and bringing in new perspectives. It is impossible to overstate how much we will miss his unassuming humor and perseverance, both of which he possessed in plenty. We are indebted to him for the decades of service he has contributed to our organization, and we are conscious of the fact that the reverberations of his actions have been a force for good in the communities that we tend to. The SWIAA Board of Directors and family would like to express their heartfelt condolences to Mr. Marks’ family, especially his daughters and grandchildren, all of whom have demonstrated their support and aid to the organization throughout the years. Mr. Marks was a longtime member of the SWIAA Board of Directors. Please see a flyer for his service attached to this message, and if you are able to do so, we would really appreciate it if you could attend. Obituary
