Johnny Casey Obituary, Johnny Casey has sadly passed away joy anchie, August 2, 2023 Johnny Casey Obituary, Death – The news that Johnny Casey, Barnane, and Templemore had all passed away was sent to us yesterday, and as a result, we are experiencing a profound sense of bereavement. Johnny had previously played football for Drom-Inch, where he held the position of full back for the squad. In the 1950s and 1960s, he won Mid Junior titles with the club, together with his brothers Tommy and Mikey and even his nephew Walter Thompson (pictured below). These victories occurred during this time period. In his younger years, Johnny called the town of Barnane his hometown. It was well known that Johnny had a strong interest in the design of mechanical objects, particularly steam engines, vintage automobiles, and antique tractors. Johnny was a man who never stopped being an ardent supporter of his Drom-Inch heritage for the whole of his life and who took enormous pride in his Drom-Inch heritage. The family link with our club is as strong now as it has ever been with the current primary club sponsor ‘Envirogreen Group’, which is owned by Johnny’s great nephew’s Walter & Tom O’Connor (located in Co. Meath). This has always been the case. This has been the case from the beginning, but its evidence is even more compelling now. As a result of this, the connection that exists between the various members of the family is stronger than it has ever been. We will pay our respects by forming a Guard of Honor at the Church in Templemore at seven o’clock on Wednesday evening in preparation for the funeral procession that will take place on Thursday. The funeral procession will take place on Thursday. We are considering asking all club members and supporters to take part in the Guard of Honor while attired in club garb, such as club coats, tops, colors, and so on. Those interested can find more information here. To the outmost parts of the universe and even further! Obituary
