Jordan Phipps Obituary, Jordan Phipps Has Passed Away joy anchie, August 7, 2023 Jordan Phipps Obituary, Death – Following two separate shootings that occurred overnight in Hartford, three people have been killed and one person has been injured. One of the suspects wanted in connection with the shootings has been taken into custody. At approximately 12:30 in the morning, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Wethersfield Avenue after receiving a ShotSpotter activation indicating the presence of multiple rounds. The victim, a male in his 20s, was found by the responding officers unresponsive and suffering from several gunshot wounds. It was determined that he had passed away at the site. He has been identified as Jordan Phipps, and he is 24 years old. He is from Bloomfield. During the time that cops were conducting their investigation, authorities reported that a second man who had been shot many times arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle. His wounds are not thought to be life-threatening at this time. Chan Williams-Bey Jr., a resident of Hartford, has been taken into custody by the police in connection with the shooting on Wethersfield Avenue. Williams-Bey is being investigated for homicide, assault, and illegal possession of a firearm, among other charges. He is being kept in custody with a bond set at $5 million. According to what Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin said on Sunday, the suspect has a history of criminal activity and was free on bond for a previous murder case dating back to June 2021. Bronin stated that Williams-Bey was able to post the lowered bond of $250,000 after initially being detained on a bond of $1.7 million in 2021. Williams-Bey received the reduced bond and was able to post the bond. Bronin stated on Sunday that the fact that serial offenders with firearms, such as Williams-Bey, are allowed to go free owing to a backlog in the legal system is a major contributor to the level of violence in the capital city. “I’m angry that this person was out in the community and able to continue committing acts of violence that take people’s lives and traumatize the community,” said Bronin. “It’s disgusting.” This person ought to have been locked up, and I hope that by bringing attention to this case and its history, we can ensure that those individuals who are responsible for repeatedly committing acts of violence in our community face swift and serious consequences, and that they are not left free to commit further acts of violence against a community that has suffered far too much,” Obituary
