She was born on February 26, 1980 in Sioux City, Iowa.After attending kindergarten and third grade in Sioux City, she relocated to Hershey, Pennsylvania. She played softball, dive team, and gymnastics during her time in school.

She used to play left field when she first started playing softball, and whenever the ball was hit at her, she would reach out her glove, shield her eyes, and hope it would land in her glove. She advanced to being selected for the all-star team’s first base position and was a consistent home run hitter. The Methodist Church confirmed her.

Kara adored Jimmy Buffet and never passed up the chance to see him perform live, donning a grass skirt and a coconut bra. In the Cayman Islands, she picked up scuba diving. loved taking road excursions but kept her speeding tickets a secret. Following her 1998 Hershey High School graduation, Kara enrolled at Bloomsburg University.

She left school and moved to Miami for a year, where she lived and enjoyed the beach. She then came back to Bloomsburg, where she resumed her studies while maintaining her place on the Dean’s list, and she graduated with her class. She interned with the Anti-Defamation League in Los Angeles after earning a degree in political science.
