Kenneth Sowell Obituary, Kenneth Sowell has passed away

Kenneth Sowell Obituary, Death –  Mr. Kenneth Sowell, age 82, of Vidalia, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, after a protracted struggle with illness. He was a resident of Georgia. Although he lived his entire life in Toombs County, he spent the majority of it in the Vidalia region. He was born and raised in Toombs County. Mr. Sowell attended Center School, then went on to graduate from Lyons High School in 1958.

He was a veteran who had served in the United States Army as a medic for a total of five years and had completed his education at Center School and Lyons High School. Before he started working at the Toombs County Convenience Centers, he had previously employed in the fields as a farmer and on the road as a truck driver. He had been a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church in the past, and some of his favorite things to do were reading (especially the Bible), gardening, watching nature documentaries, and simply spending time at home.

His granddaughter Carmen Leigh Rodgers Murray, his parents Jimmie Carroll Sowell and Laura Poole Sowell, his newborn brother Richard Sowell, and his sister-in-law Mollie Sowell all died before he did. His only surviving sibling, Richard Sowell, died when he was an infant. He was the fifth and final kid in the family. His wife of fifty-four years, Connie Thigpen Sowell, lives in Vidalia.

He has one daughter, Jill Sowell Rodgers, who lives in Uvalda with her husband Ryan. His son, Dan Sowell, and his wife, Steffi, live in Oklahoma. There are four grandchildren: Neal Rodgers and his wife Amy, who live in Naples, Florida; Kaline Sowell, who lives in Texas; Ana and Zoey Sowell, who live in Oklahoma; and one grandchild who lives in Oklahoma. One of the grandchildren lives in Oklahoma.
