Larry Reed Obituary, Larry Reed has passed away joy anchie, August 6, 2023 Larry Reed Obituary, Death – Larry Dean Reed, 64, of St. Elmo, Illinois, died at home at 7:44 a.m. on August 3, 2023. A memorial service will be performed later. Springhill Cemetery in St. Elmo will host the burial. Memorial donations might go to the St. Elmo American Legion or another organization. Write a condolence in the guestbook at www.pagelfuneralhome.com. Larry Reed was born in Vandalia, Illinois, on July 2, 1959, to Preslie Warren and Lillie Irene (Badman) Reed. Their only child is Larry. He liked socializing, fishing, yard labor, grass mowing, and woodworking. He is survived by his brother, Leslie Reed, of St. Elmo; his sisters, Linda Rider and her husband Michael of Maple City, Michigan; his brother-in-law, David Arnold, of Brownstown, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. His grandparents, parents, Preslie and Irene Reed, and sister, Nancy Arnold, died before him. In addition to his philanthropic activities, he supported his loved ones through the hardest moments and never wavered. His wisdom and guidance guided them through life’s challenges in the storm. He had a wonderful ability to listen without judging, and his advise was always based on empathy and understanding. His intellectual curiosity and desire to learn about other cultures and ideas kept him in school throughout his life. His passion for learning inspired his friends to pursue their own intellectual pursuits. Conversations with him were always enlightening and led to reflective arguments that left an unforgettable effect on those who met him. We get comfort in knowing he lived a good life before dying. Those whose lives he touched will continue on his love, compassion, and empathy after his death. Even though he is gone, his spirit will guide and inspire us to be better, more compassionate individuals. We are here to honor this remarkable person after his death. Celebrating his life and the impact he made on us will honor him. I wish that his spirit rests in peace forever and that we can always be grateful for knowing him. Obituary
