Laura McCoy Obituary, Friends And Family Mourns Laura McCoy joy anchie, August 5, 2023 Laura McCoy Obituary, Death – Mrs. Laura Marie Owen McCoy, age 50, of North Wilkesboro, formerly of Ashe County, completed her trip here on earth on Sunday at her residence. She was originally from Ashe County. A gathering to honor the deceased will take place on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the lower shelter at West Jefferson Park. Mrs. McCoy was born in Ashe County on January 31, 1971. Her parents were Randall Owen and Betty Daughaday Owen, who passed away prior to her birth. Her most recent position was as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Wilkes Health & Rehabilitation Center, where she had previously held employment at Forest Ridge Assisted Living. Love and laughter were always abundant in Laura’s life. Her roles as a mother and grandmother, as well as her commitment to providing care for others, occupied a significant portion of her life. She had such a big heart, and as a result, she was liked by a great number of people; we shall miss her very much. Mrs. McCoy is survived by her son, Travis McCoy and Catherine, of Tooele, Utah; her daughter, Kayla McCoy and Katelyn, of West Jefferson; her father, Randall Owen, of Crumpler; her five sisters, Ronda Lawrence and husband, Danny, of Jefferson, Teresa Mann, of Crumpler, Melanie Owen, of Crumpler, and Wendi Owen, of Crumpler; nine grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
