Leanne R. Calvillo Obituary, Death – Apple Valley resident Leanne R. Calvillo, age 21, was identified as the person who perished in a rollover collision that occurred early on Thursday morning, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner. At approximately 7:11 a.m. on August 3, 2023, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, officers from the California Highway Patrol, and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department responded to a call about a crash involving a single vehicle.

Near Joshua Street, deputies saw a single person driving a black 2003 Toyota Tacoma westbound on Ocotillo Way. They determined that just one person was in the vehicle. The collision took place on Ocotillo Way, which is located in the Town of Apple Valley, west of Joshua Street. It is unclear what caused the vehicle to swerve over the side of the roadway located to the north, which resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle after it experienced multiple rollovers. “The driver suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” according to the officials from the sheriff’s office. Investigators from the Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T.) of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have arrived and are conducting an investigation into the incident. The section of Ocotillo Way that is located between Joshua Street and Juniper Road was shut down for a period of three hours while the scene was being assessed for evidence.
