Leon Troy Obituary, Death – Bishop Berry and the rest of the Rehoboth Temple family would like to extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Reverend Dr. Leon Troy, Sr., who passed away recently at the age of 94. Reverend Dr. Leon Troy, Sr. served as the senior pastor of the Rehoboth Temple for many years.

Troy served as the church’s emeritus pastor during his time at the Second Baptist Church in Columbus, which was the city’s first Black Baptist congregation. Around the middle of the 1970s, he was chosen to serve as the pastor of the church, a position he held for the remainder of his career up until the point at which he took early retirement.

The family of Leon L. Troy, Sr. issued a statement on their behalf, which said, “It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved General and Patriarch, Dr. Leon L. Troy, Sr.” A man of integrity is someone who has reverence for God, who is devoted to his wife and children, who is a good father and grandfather, who is a caring brother and uncle, who is a mentor and trusted advisor,

who is dedicated and acknowledged as a global servant leader, who is a friend to many, and who serves as a father figure to many.
