Luke Hofkamp Obituary, Death – Luke Hofkamp was the fifth of Forrest and Diane Hofkamp’s six children when he was born on September 14, 1979 in Libertyville, Illinois. Luke, a graduate of Boston College, where the guiding principle was to serve as men and women for others, and Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, where he was up in the northern suburbs of Chicago, was an active athlete who also rooted himself in his faith.

He began working for Morgan Stanley in New York City at age 21 after earning a finance degree from Boston College. The largest tenant in Tower 2 of the World Trade Center was Morgan Stanley. September 11, 2001, was his second day on the job. He later stated, “I advise all of us to appreciate our blessings each and every day. I survived the 61st story of Tower 2. Give without expecting anything in return. And contribute to something bigger than yourself.

After the 9/11 attacks, Luke returned to Chicago and pursued a lucrative career in banking. His marriage to Lauren (née Damico), a high school football coach at both Carmel Catholic and Loyola Academy, was his biggest achievement. Having been happily wed for almost ten years, they are the proud parents of Logan (3), Lucas (7), and Vivian (5).

A devoted family man who is a fantastic brother to his five siblings, in-laws, and uncle to 17 nieces and nephews in addition to his own wife and children. His grin made the space glow. He radiated optimism and tenacity in all he did. He sincerely and deeply loved with all of his heart.
