Nick was a passenger on the PUT IX when it was involved in the accident, yet he was able to walk away from it unscathed despite being a participant.

Concerns of Police Survivors, the Police Unity Tour, and Mary Ellen’s seven children could always count on Mary Ellen’s unwavering support. Mary Ellen was also a strong advocate for the cause. Mary Ellen was also known for her unwavering devotion to her family. Mary Ellen was one of the most ardent supporters of the cause that they were fighting for.

She was there for her family as they dealt with the death of their father and husband, Trooper Paul Barry, who was a member of the Massachusetts State Police and was slain in the line of duty. During this time, she was there for her family as they worked through their grief.
