Melvin Talbert Obituary, Death –  Yesterday evening, Bishop Melvin Talbert, a retired bishop of The United Methodist Church, passed away. The Council of Bishops of the church is deeply saddened to report his passing and expresses their condolences to his family. The passing of Bishop Talbert occurred late last night. Please keep his wife, Mrs. Marilyn Magee Talbert, and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

In the year 1980, Bishop Talbert was selected for the office of episcopacy and was given responsibility for the district surrounding Seattle. After that, in 1988, he was transferred to the San Francisco Area, and on August 31, 2000, he finally retired there. Funeral preparations will be discussed at a later time. They were the pioneers in their field to achieve great success, shattering barriers along the way while paving the way for others and acting as a source of motivation for others around them.
