Michel Oesterreicher Obituary, Michel Oesterreicher has died joy anchie, August 9, 2023August 9, 2023 Michel Oesterreicher Obituary, Death – We were taken aback when we learned of Michel Oesterreicher’s demise; during this difficult time, we want his family, friends, and coworkers to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. Michel was not only a wonderful friend to the Museum, but he was also a teacher and a narrator of the history of our city. He will be greatly missed. He will be sorely missed by many. Her book is titled “Pioneer Family,” and it tells the story of how her parents, Huger “Hugie” Oesterreicher and Oleta Brown Oesterreicher, brought up their family in Florida in the early 20th century. The time period is around 1900. Both of them had their beginnings in Florida, and Huger’s future wife, Oleta Brown Oesterreicher, was Huger’s high school sweetheart. These events happened during the time period in which Florida was known as the “Pioneer State.” When Palm Valley was cleared to make room for the development of Nocatee, Michel was an integral part of the fight to conserve the cottage that had been in her family for many generations. The Oesterreicher-McCormick Cabin is a remarkable educational resource and a wonderful addition to the History Park. Where it is open to the public and serves as a wonderful addition to the park. In addition, the cabin is a wonderful addition to the park. We are thankful for Michel’s company as well as her interest in history, which she shares with us. We will continue to keep Michel’s family in our thoughts and prayers, and we are appreciative of the enthusiasm with which she approaches the topic. Obituary
