It was reported that Rodriguez, who was then 24 years old, had gone missing in August of 2017. Her family had just finished their final conversation with her minutes before Hurricane Harvey began to wreak havoc on the city. In the days following the storm, ABC13 was there to assist her parents in their hunt for her as they looked for her. On July 12, 2022, a laborer who had been hired to clean up the backyard of a property located on Peach Creek Drive in southeast Houston discovered the bones, which were described as belonging to a full skeleton, in a built-in barbecue pit in the backyard. The property in question was located on Peach Creek Drive. The investigators stated that the skeletons had been burned in a fire. The man told ABC13 at the time that the discovery was made that “it’s like a lost soul out there, and nobody found it until now.” “Up until this point, nobody had discovered it.” The identity of the suspect was not established for almost an entire calendar year. The Houston Police Department has stated unequivocally that they did, in fact, speak with Rodriguez’s father during the course of the weekend. ABC13 was told by a member of the family that they are in disbelief and that they had always maintained the hope that she would be located alive.
