Missouri: Valerie Roach Obituary, Former UMKC And Rockhurst University Graduate Has Passed Away joy anchie, August 9, 2023 Valerie Roach Obituary, Death – We like to express our deepest condolences to the Roach family on the loss of Valerie Margaret Roach, who passed away on August 1, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 62, and who was surrounded by her family. Valerie’s love and loyalty to her family, her friends, and her faith were unwavering and passionate. The deep faith and noble spirit that was within Valerie eventually led her down the path of serving others. Valerie was not just focused on bettering herself as a person; she also devoted a significant portion of her time and energy, each and every day, to uplifting the people in her immediate environment. Beatrice and Stephen Glynn welcomed their daughter Valerie into the world on February 7, 1961, in the city of Kansas City, Missouri. She received her high school diploma from St. Teresa’s Academy, and then continued her education at both UMKC and Rockhurst University. While working at the Indian Hills Country Club, Valerie became acquainted with J.L., who would later become her husband of 33 years. She worked for Nutter Home Loans for a prosperous 31 years, ultimately reaching the position of Assistant Vice President of Payoffs and Taxes before retiring from the company. In her spare time, Val enjoyed loving her dog, Nahla, as well as spending time with her grandchildren and cooking. She especially enjoyed having people around for supper on Sundays, especially Thanksgiving, which was one of her favorite holidays. Her parents and her brother, Stephen Glynn, passed away before her. She was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her husband, John Lee, and their four children, daughter Samantha Beatrice, son John Thomas, daughter Mackenzie ReneĆ©, and son Mitchell Stephen; four grandchildren, Jade Margaret, Ava Marie, John William, and Caroline Reed; sisters Mary Jane Delap, Suzette Cutcliff (Jack), Eileen Novosel (Paul), Patricia Finn, and Agnes Landry; brother Joseph Glynn; and a large number of nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, August 8, a Christian burial service will be held at Visitation Church, which is located at 5141 Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The service will begin at 10 a.m. Following the burial services, the body will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. On Monday, the praying of the rosary will begin at 5 p.m., and it will be followed by visitation at the church. Donations made in memory of a loved one may be made to Visitation School. Obituary
