On Monday, August 7th, Bill “Kaney” Kane lost his battle with a medical condition while he was at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a really enjoyable person to be around, a dedicated member of our camp staff, and a mentor to a whole generation of both staff members and campers. We will never forget him because of his upbeat demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, extensive Scouting knowledge, and his love for camp and the principles that are instilled here. All of these things contributed to his excitement about going to camp and the life lessons he will pick up while he is there about the significance of having good morals. All of these things worked together to ensure that his legacy will be ingrained in our minds for a very long time to come thanks to their combined efforts. Because of his positive attitude, his hilarious sense of humor, his wide knowledge of Scouting, and his excitement for camp and the ideas that are taught here, we will never forget him. His sense of humor was superb. His knowledge of Scouting was extensive. At that point, he had been putting up a struggle against this condition for a significant amount of time. He was a really interesting person to be around, a hard-working member of the staff at our camp, and a guide to a whole generation’s worth of staff members in addition to the campers. He will be missed at our camp. Others who worked at the camp benefited from his expertise and years of experience, which he generously shared with them. Recently, he moved on to greener pastures at a new and improved location. Obituary
