Robin Timmins Obituary, Death – We were notified with great regret of the sudden and unexpected demise of NSWRRA and NSW Rugby Life Member Robin Timmins. Our hearts go out to Robin’s family and friends. Life member of the NSWRRA and of the state of NSW Rugby, the most ardent supporter of the Woodies, and a pioneering female referee. There was no Eastwood supporter who was more ardent, more dedicated, or more loyal to the blue and white cause. Known far and wide throughout the rugby community for her unwavering dedication to the Wooden Sticks.

A career spanning more than 40 years in New South Wales Rugby, a dedication to referee advocacy, and the distinction of being Australia’s first female referee. Farewell, Robin, from everyone in the rugby refereeing community and the sport itself. You are going to be greatly missed. To honor Robin’s memory and pay respect to his passing this weekend, we ask that all participants in your matches wear a black arm band. As a token of appreciation for all that he has done for the organization, Robin Timmins has been made a Life Member of the New South Wales Rugby Football Union.

This illustrious distinction showed his unwavering dedication over the course of his whole life to the development and improvement of the sport that he cherished so deeply. His engagement in rugby spanned multiple eras, and his advice was highly influential in the development of the sport’s current landscape in New South Wales.
