Peggy Johnson Obituary, In Loving Memory Of Peggy Johnson joy anchie, August 4, 2023 Peggy Johnson Obituary, Death – On Monday, July 24, 2023, Peggy Jeane Greer Johnson passed away at home. She entered the world on the seventh of August in the year 1951. She was known as Jeannie by some, and Peggy by others. Her family called her “Mama Angel” because of her kind disposition and caring nature. Jeannie was the epitome of selflessness, kindness, and love. To them, she was the world. Jeannie, the daughter of a salesperson on the road, moved about a lot. She spent time in Chattanooga, Hicksville, Long Island, and Decatur, Georgia, among other places. She attended Gordon High School and graduated in 1968 after spending her high school years in Decatur, Georgia with her family. Her family relocated to Albany, Georgia in 1972. She got a job at Lowell’s, the bookstore and video store run by her family. In the ’80s and ’90s, Jeannie was a common sight working the register. Jeannie has confronted the last few years without the physical ability to do the things she enjoyed head on and with courage. Her resilience in adversity encouraged those closest to her. Her loved ones included her husband, Alan Greer; his wife, Marilyn; their children, Brian Earl Burdette and Jennifer Anne Burdette; their grandchildren, Brantley and Beau Burdette; their aunt, Rebecca Greer Whitehead (Brent) and their cousin, Brittany Greer Corliss; and their nephew, Tommy Greer. Jeannie’s parents, Lowell D. Greer and Peggy Dorman Greer, and her brother, Thomas Richard Greer, have all passed on before her, and they have all been reunited in heaven. Psalm 4:8: “I will lie down in peace and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.” is a verse that brings us great solace. Jeannie is now in heaven, where she is rejoicing with Jesus and waltzing on streets of gold. Restored to full health and wellness. Obituary
