STEVE ROBERTS, who was 74 years old at the time of his passing, was taken from this world on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, Ohio. He called the city of Weirton in West Virginia his home. He was born on January 14, 1949 in the city of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. His parents, Robert and Katherine J. Gilmore Roberts, both passed away before his birth. In addition to this, one of his sisters, named Roberta Roberts, passed away before he did. The Catholic Church of St. Joseph the Worker was one of Steve’s regular places of worship, and he attended there frequently. Steve graduated from Weir High School in 1967, the same year he was a part of the school’s graduating class. After completing his secondary education, Steve enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines Hotel Company. He looks back on his time in the Marine Corps with a great deal of pride. As a result of his injuries sustained during the Battle of Hue, he was given a discharge with dishonorable conditions. The amount of medals that Steve had in his collection was significant, and it included not just one but three Purple Hearts. In addition to that, he had graduated from the College of Steubenville with all of his degrees. Steve made the decision to retire after serving Weirton Steel Company/National Steel Division for a number of years in the capacity of an inside sales representative. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Pam Pinti Roberts; daughter, Vanessa Roberts-Beaver (Joey L. Beaver); brother, Timothy Roberts; grandchildren, Courtney Posey, Josey Tassey (Michael), Joey Beaver (Beth); great grandchildren, Crue and Caden Tassey, Priscilla Beaver and Hadley Tiger; honorary grandson, Sebastian Bennett (Kailey); sister-in-law, Diana Rosnick (Rudy); nieces Rachel & Jocelyn.
