Ricky Yates Obituary, Ricky Yates has passed away joy anchie, August 4, 2023 Ricky Yates Obituary, Death – After being born on the 15th of December in 1959, Yates enlisted in the Army the following year, in June of 1977. In 2012, after having worked at AMCOM continuously for the previous 35 years, he finally decided to retire. On the evening of May 23, 2023, he was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the 82nd Airborne Division. This took place during the earlier part of the day. As a mentor, he showed people what it meant to lead by demonstrating the importance of taking the initiative in any given circumstance, treating others with respect and decency at all times, and always setting an example for others to follow. Because of the actions that CSM Yates made, the soldiers under his command were able to appreciate the breadth of his caring for their wellbeing. As a result of these actions, the soldiers were driven to follow him wherever he would go. “We want his family and close friends to know that we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time,” said CSM James “JJ” Journigan, who is the current commander of the 82nd CAB. “He will be greatly missed, and we want his family to know that we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time.” “It is with great regret that we inform you that CSM Ricky Yates has passed away. Before moving on to his current post with AMCOM, he served in leadership capacities for the vast majority of the brigade’s organizations, culminating in his appointment as Command Sergeant Major of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade. It was an honor to get to know this wonderful individual who served in the military, and the ways in which he assisted me in advancing my career are things that I will never forget. Larry Farmer, a former CAB CSM who is now a CSM(R), offered his best wishes, wishing that “God would bless you and your family and watch over you.” Obituary
