Robert Hughes Obituary, Death – The United Firefighters Association expresses its deepest condolences to its members on the demise of Robert Hughes, a retired fireman who had previously served with Ladder 134. Hughes had been a member of the organization for many years. The cause of his death was a condition that he had picked up while assisting with the rescue and retrieval of victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center after those events.

He had passed away as a result of this condition. His sickness was finally fatal and he passed away as a result. Firefighter Hughes began his career with the Department on the day he was hired, September 5, 1981, and remained there until the day he retired, September 1, 2005. His tenure with the Department spanned from the day he was hired until the day he retired.

The day he was hired was the first day of his stay with the Department, and the day he retired was the last day of his tenure. During this trying time, we are thinking about and praying for the members of his family and friends. We are grateful to him for his service to our country and are thinking about and praying for them. Your legacy will live on in our minds and hearts forever.
