Steve Wilks Obituary, Death – After a long and difficult fight against the disease, our devoted Science Technician, Steve Wilks, was ultimately unable to prevail over the myeloma cancer that he had been battling for some time. Unfortunately, he no longer lives. After hearing the news, we are overcome with a profound sense of bereavement and loss. Because Steve’s health took a sudden turn for the worst, he would not be able to attend Merchants’ Academy during the month of September as originally planned. Steve’s return to the classroom was something he was looking forward to and had been anticipating.

Steve worked at Merchants’ Academy and Withywood School, the latter of which was the institution’s predecessor, for a combined total of almost 35 years during the course of his professional career. Many members of the community have warm feelings toward him as a result of the significant contributions he made to the Science department over the course of those years. This is because of the job he did during that period of time.

Because Steve’s unwavering devotion to the students he taught and the organization where he worked shone through in all that he did, we would want to pay respect to his memory by donating to a charitable organization that his family selects.
